UList™ FAQs
We have unique policies regarding asset transfer and resale. We don't allow certain things to be reused.
S3 understands that organizations have unique structures, policies, procedures, and philosophies when it comes to managing surplus assets. UList™ in conjunction with your existing policies and procedures, creates a system that ensures expedient surplus processing, increases the chance of redeployment or reuse, and decreases a potential negative impact to the environment—all while saving money. For example, if your organization prohibits redeployment or resale of computers, Ulist can be configured to prohibit those items from being listed.

Our hospitals each have their own P&L, so there needs to be a payment between hospitals. Is this possible?
Absolutely. Ulist is designed for purchasing between departments/divisions/locations, or on a simpler level, items can simply be transferred. Regardless of the sale price of an item, whether it is 0 or $100,000, UList will create reports to show all transactions.

Does UList handle the payments?
UList gives hospitals the opportunity to post items so that people can work out details between themselves once they decide to proceed with a sale/transfer. UList then is updated with the item status and sale price so that the items can be removed from UList when they have been transferred, at which point detailed sales/transfer reports are generated.

How long will items stay on UList?
UList is designed to fulfill many hospitals' policies or desires that items get marketed internally for a period of time before they are liquidated, recycled, traded in, etc. This saves the organization from unnecessarily buying new assets that they could find elsewhere in the organization. If items are not transferred/sold internally within 30, 60, or 90 days, depending on their characteristics, we recommend they do not stay on UList and they go through other disposition methods to limit the items losing value. UList is configured based on how long your organization would like items to remain on the system. S3 can help with those decisions based on our experience.

What does our IT department need to do to implement UList?
UList is a web-based platform that is accessed simply through a web link. If you have a company intranet, we can provide that link to your IT department to post on your site with instructions. If you do not have an intranet, we will create a custom URL for your organization (i.e. yourhospital.ULIST.com)

What do we do with items after they expire on UList?
S3 has been in the businesses of providing asset disposition services for nearly 10 years. UList was created in response to our clients' needs. Our Full Service Outsourced Surplus Management service can help you liquidate your items through our shared revenue model. Our client hospitals outsource the management and processing of surplus equipment to S3, where our staff works onsite at your facility to sell, recycle, and process all used equipment. This can be done independently of UList, or vice versa.

How is UList priced?
UList is priced per month, per location. The pricing is based on the philosophy that if you can simply transfer a chair, a desk, and a file cabinet, then the money you saved on not having to buy them new pays for UList. Obviously we want you to transfer dozens of items and pieces of equipment per month. Our goal is that you see a return on your investment and stay a loyal user of UList. We will provide a custom quote for you once we learn more details about your organization and its size.
